Historical Istanbul Tour

Your tour of Istanbul takes off with breakfast. You are escorted on a historical journey at the Hippodrome of Old Byzantium, a place for chariot races and public events. The astonishing pieces of the Egyptian Obelisk, the Serpentine Column, and the Fountain of Wilhelm II all bear their own stories. A short walk brings you to the iconic Blue Mosque, known for its six towering minarets and stunning blue Iznik tiles. This masterpiece of Ottoman architecture is as serene as it is majestic.

Next, we visit Hagia Sophia, a monumental building that has served as a cathedral, mosque, and now a museum. For those who want to partake, after lunch, we go to the visit to Topkapi Palace, a former residence and administrative center for the Ottoman Sultans. Wander the opulent rooms and courtyards, a dream-like world that only the Sultans could inhabit. Our last visit of the day is the Grand Bazaar, one of the world’s oldest and biggest covered markets. You can bargain here for spices, jewelry, textiles, and other products, and simply enjoy the atmosphere.

Bosphorus Cruise & Dolmabahce Palace Tour

The third day of your Istanbul tour will start with a visit to the busy Spice Market, also known as the Egyptian Bazaar. Though this place has had a long history of trading since 1665, trading life still goes on here—colorful spices, sweets, and local delicacies are all available. Then, after you savor some of the market’s delicacies, you depart on a cruise along the Bosphorus. This cruise will take you along the strait that separates Europe and Asia, offering stunning views of Istanbul’s silhouette with palaces, kiosks, mosques, and mansions.

Then, after lunch at leisure, the tour will continue along the first Bosphorus Bridge and drive up to Camlica Hill for a panoramic view of Istanbul and the Sea of Marmara. The views from this point are unmatched and perfect for photography. We return to the European part of the city and visit the grand Dolmabahce Palace. Being the residence of the last six Ottoman Sultans, this palace synthesizes European and Ottoman architectural styles. The styles are magnificently reflected in the sprawling palace against the splendid backdrop of gardens. Witness the splendor of the Great and Valide Halls and the private gardens of the royal family.
